Make sure you are using Professional / Business or Ultimate Edition , and not the Home version.

 
Selecting remote settings Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click  System, 

or Start - search: "remote settings"
 
Select "Allow connections...."

 
Selecting Users Select users for remote access. Notice these users must be configured with a Password.

Make sure not to enable NLA (Network Level Authentication). NLA is a special protocol, which does not give much extra security, but makes everything very complicated. Read more
